Responsibilities:
Follows all school rules and system policiesFollows all rules and regulations regarding the sport as defined in the TSSAAhandbookProvides technical expertise in coaching the assigned athletic activityUnderstands and follows the proper administrative line of command and refers allrequests or grievances through proper channelMaintains professionalism on and off the fieldStrives to develop rapport and serves as a positive role modelTeaches student athletes the values of good citizenship, honesty, integrity, self-discipline, courage, loyalty and sportsmanshipEncourages community partnerships that enhance district programs and servicesWorks with the media to develop a positive relationshipWorks with the athletic director to evaluate program needsMakes preparation for any athletic event in his/her respective programPromotes the proper use and care of school propertyRegularly inspects playing surface for safety concernsAttends all mandatory programs (e.
g.
TSSAA required meetings, first aid/CPRtraining, etc.
).
Encourages student involvement in program activities.
Helps parents and studentsunderstand program objectives.
Explains student responsibilities (e.
g.
, scholasticeligibility, parental permission, physical exams, training/performance schedules,requirements for letters, optional insurance coverage, waiver forms, etc.
)Organizes team tryouts.
Maintains the integrity of the selection processOrganizes and carries out a practice schedule.
Coordinates activities with theschool calendar Assumes responsibility for the development of off-season activities (e.
g.
, summertraining, clinics, etc.
) Teaches precautions and procedures to help students prevent injuries.
Ensures thatmedical authorization forms are on file and readily available.
Promptly documentsall injuries that require attentionParticipates in student recognition programsRides bus with players, when applicable, to and from games, contests and camps Helps with supervision responsibilities related to the preparation of athletic fields,and practice areasAssigns and keeps track of athletic equipment issued to students and staff, andmaintains inventory of all new and used equipmentEnsures that students keep locker rooms and practice areas orderlyHelps arrange transportation and lodging for sanctioned activitiesObtains permission to be away when duties conflict with other assigned dutiesTakes precautions to ensure staff/student safety.
Does not leave studentunsupervisedWorks closely with the athletic boosters associationEstablishes a working relationship with system schools and coaches at all levelsGives Athletic Director a copy of all communications sent home with studentsGeneral Requirements:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
