Industrial Engineer

6. Statement of Major
Responsibilities:

Investigates any new concepts or ideas that could improve any aspect specific to manufacturing/production.
Participates on any Continuous Improvement teams as a team member or leader and provides the team with expertise, direction and advice. Responsible as a team leader to manage the Continuous Improvement project by documenting each meeting, establishing timelines, goals, objectives and working within budget parameters.
Monitors the progress of jobs being performed by vendor(s), Tool and/or Maintenance room and provides direction as necessary.
Facilitate training sessions to internal employees on an as needed basis (may include welding, robotics, PLC)
Responsible for documenting current projects e.g. cost, quotes, pay back, timelines, goals, etc. and provides information to management.
Generates Floor Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Ladder Logic in the installation and programming of PLC's.
Follows the entire build of Robotics, or Special Purpose Equipment and Fixtures from Purchase Order to PPAP and into Production.
Provides engineering support to other departments within the Company as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Prepares work schedules with interim end target estimates for all projects within his/her responsibility.
Supports APQP Team and Program Managers with the creation of technical specifications for the purchase of automation, robotics, assembly equipment and automated check fixtures.
Searches out and implements new technologies and Continuous Improvement opportunities in the machining and assembly fields.
Initiate plans and ideas for cost reductions and/or quality improvement measures.
Maintain proper filing system to ensure all information is properly stored and easily retrieved.
Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook and Company policies.
Carries out assigned responsibilities under TS16949 and ISO 14001.
Any other reasonable request made by management.
Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.
Ensures he/she is in full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, while representing Van-Rob Manchester or during the use of any provided equipment.


7. Safety Responsibilities

Work safely by following safe work practices, Company safety rules, and complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, including, but not limited to:
Working in compliance with the Act and Regulations.
Using or wearing the equipment, protective devices or clothing required to be used or worn.
Reporting to supervision the absence of, or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware and which may endanger the health and safety of yourself or another worker.
Reporting to supervision any contravention of the Act or the Regulations or the existence of any hazards of which you are aware.
Not removing or making ineffective any protective device required by the Regulations without General Manager approval and providing an adequate temporary device. When the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
Not using or operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger yourself, or another person.
Not engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.

Mentoring, training, instruction and material are provided to help each employee comply with assigned safety responsibilities.



Manufacturing Engineer

Skills - What skills are required to perform the work?
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3 years post secondary school education, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial or related on the job experience with specific discipline in controls and robotics.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task
Organized and self-motivated professional
Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
Must be able to relate / communicate well with people at all levels
Blueprint Reading, Basic Measuring Techniques, Proficient with CAD (preferably AUTOCAD or CADKEY)


Knowledge - What knowledge of methods, procedures, equipment/technology are required?

Knowledge of ANSI, SAE and other industry/customer related standards
Knowledge of GD&T, QFD, Design for Manufacturing, VE/VA, DOE, FMEA, DFMEA/PFMEA, Reliability Engineering Plans
Must be very familiar with Automotive Manufacturing Process, Synchronous Manufacturing, SPC, 8D's, Control Plans, Continuous Improvement Techniques
Working knowledge of TS16949 and ISO14001
Knowledge of presses, machining equipment, material handling equipment, inspection/gauging equipment, tool room equipment, metal finish equipment .

$75-$85k yearly

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
